The Argall BID recently delivered the good news about the ownership of the Argall Avenue car parks being transferred to the Waltham Forest Business Board (WFBB). Although the protection of the car parks under the management of WFBB guarantees a parking provision for businesses, they are local business-owned assets that incur costs. In order to meet the above costs it is proposed that a subsidised paid parking scheme is implemented within the two car parks located at the junction of n Argall Avenue and Argall Way.
The scheme will have a reduced indicative cost of £1 per day for employees/employers within the BID area and £3 per day for visitors to the area. Currently a tender process is taking place to assess the best method and associated costs for a implementing the scheme. The public car park on Rigg Approach within the BID area was sold and developed leaving a vast reduction in parking spaces for businesses and customers. Argall BID is an area undergoing rapid transformation and the value of the asset will be widely appreciated when the new Lea Bridge station opens in 2014/2015.
