Snow costs employers £318 million in lost productivity

Argall Car Park SnoweditedThe British economy has lost 51.4 million working hours over the past week as a result of poor weather conditions, according to research published by UK firm Green Flag.

The research showed more than 8.5 million (18%) of British adults have been unable to work their contracted hours because of the adverse weather, costing employers an estimated £318 million.

The research revealed, due to the snow and icy conditions, 19% of respondents admitted that they were afraid of driving and chose to stay off the road, while a further 2.3 million people tried to take to the roads but were unable to because of the ice.
