Waltham Forest has one of worst crime reduction rates in London

The borough experienced just a 1.8 per cent drop in the number of offences recorded in the period between December 2012 and March 2013 compared to same period in 2011/12.

A total of 24,443 offences occurred from June 2012 to March 2013, just 454 less than the number recorded over the same period in 2011/12, placing the borough 25th out of 32 London boroughs for crime reduction.

It’s a contrast to the previous year when the borough came second in London for crime reduction in 2011/12, when it saw a decrease of 2,654 offences compared to the period between June 2011 and March 2012.The figures were gathered for a report due to be discussed at the Community Safety Scrutiny Sub-Committee at the town hall on 25/06/2013, also show that robbery has dropped by nearly a quarter on 2011/12.
