Last year Waltham Forest Council asked Professor Tony Travers to chair the Waltham Forest Growth Commission to provide an independent and objective view of how the Council, local businesses and other stakeholders can work together to secure growth for the borough in the years ahead.
Nearly 2,000 individuals and organisations shared their views with the Commission through consultations, focus groups and a call for evidence. The Council believe that the report provides them with an independent and insightful analysis of the potential of the borough, and how they can continue to build on all that Waltham Forest has to offer. You can download a copy of the report and find out more information about the Commission at www.walthamforest.gov.uk/growthcommission .
The Council will respond formally to the report’s recommendations later in the year and in order to do so, we will be working closely with a wide range of partners to work on the best way forward to make Waltham Forest a place where our residents and businesses can prosper and be proud of. However, the Commission’s recommendations are not only for the Council to take forward, but are also aimed at central and regional government, local businesses and residents. We are also keen that a range of stakeholders gives their input and responds to the recommendations.
